From August 28 to September 6, jazz will take over northern Paris.
At the tail end of summer, the Jazz à La Villette festival will unfold mainly across the Grande Halle de La Villette, the Philharmonie de Paris, and the Cité de la Musique. For its 2026 edition, the event reasserts its identity as a musical laboratory, where jazz reinvents itself by absorbing the influences of its era, under the slogan “Jazz is not dead.”
The festival’s opening will be marked by a high-profile encounter between the ensemble Snarky Puppy and the formidable Metropole Orkest. The British scene will enjoy a prime showcase with acts such as Kokoroko, Mammal Hands, Venna, and corto.alto, the artist signed to Ninja Tune.
One of the year’s main focuses is on unique collaborations and reinterpretations of the classical repertoire. We will notably witness Emma-Jean Thackray’s take on Miles Davis’s body of work, as well as the tribute to Gil Scott-Heron by Brian Jackson and Yasiin Bey. The festival will also highlight collective projects, such as singer Selah Sue collaborating with the Gallands, or the summit-level gathering of saxophonist Émile Parisien, pianist Yaron Herman, bassist Linda May Han Oh, and percussionist Prabhu Edouard.
