Today’s news for July 17 are clearly dominated by the eagerly awaited release of Gracie Abrams. But it isn’t the only album worth highlighting, as we can also listen to the new works by Eartheater, Steve Lacy, her fellow Syd, Yard Act, Nia Archives, Lido Pimienta, Helado Tropical, or even Tricky. Among the more curious releases are the reissue of Mariah Carey’s Daydream to celebrate its 30th anniversary and Gala Nell’s new EP.
While Cupido completes their album with the addition of the missing track, we also learn of new singles from Carly Rae Jepsen (in Jungle mode), Brandon Flowers (country-leaning), Kelly Clarkson (Pink-inspired), or Tinashe (staying true to Tinashe’s style).
The latter has announced her album ‘Popstar’, and she isn’t the only artist to have kicked off a campaign this week: Leon Bridges, Beck and Echo & the Bunnymen have announced albums in recent days, while Julia Jacklin had done so earlier. Not to mention David Bowie’s new compilation.
Beabadoobee, Rose Gray and Overmono continue to tease their upcoming releases, along with Queens of the Stone Age, whose Josh Homme makes a double appearance on Mastodon’s single. Today we feature on the cover the superb debut of Claudia Arenas, and her OT 2025 compatriot Guillo Rist also releases an electronic-leaning single.
Spanish-language pop yields notable updates from Bloodstein, BRAVA with Leo Tucadamo, Karmento, Kristina, Euskoprincess, Blackpanda, or a new track from Maria Arnal, following her album released this year and continuing in that same vein.
