ADÉLA has made the official announcement of her debut album by dropping another banger. After the punchy ‘KGB’ and the release of ‘Red Bottoms,’ the Slovak singer pays homage to Miley Cyrus with the song ‘We Can’t Stop’ through a motivating anthem that celebrates her European roots. ‘Ain’t In LA’ is hailed as the Song of the Day.
‘PRIMA’ is the title of ADÉLA’s debut, set to arrive on September 4, and we already know how her latest track sounds. The resemblance between ‘Ain’t In LA’ and Miley Cyrus’s hit is evident in the opening moments of the track, with that pitched, hedonistic vocal style that mentions “subwoofers in the trunk” or lighting a cigarette “with propane.” This is the first layer of the song: a total banger.
However, the lyrics in the verses point to something more personal, mentioning a girl who “shares a room with her younger brother” or who has “Madonna on the wall beside Destiny’s Child.” The artist already knew at that time that her dreams “don’t live at home,” before launching into the sticky chorus.
Even though she’s now based in Los Angeles, the artist still recalls her home in Europe and debunks “the lie” that one must move to the Californian city to become someone. Before moving, ADÉLA stood as proof that “the baddest bitches aren’t in L.A.”
