Linda Perhacs has been found alive. The group of friends and collaborators who had spearheaded the search has confirmed that the 82-year-old artist “is safe and in a new care facility”.
The circle of friends and associates who had alerted authorities to her disappearance has expressed gratitude for the support received through social media: “The community truly came together to safeguard Linda’s well-being.” They also noted that they will share more information as updates become available.
Concerns had been raised after those close to her said they had not heard from Perhacs in eight months. Her former manager Laurel Stearns even filed a missing-person report with the Los Angeles Police Department, while musicians such as Robin Pecknold, the leader of Fleet Foxes, or Glasser helped spread the search on social media.
Perhacs released the cult album Parallelograms in 1970 and came back in 2014 with The Soul of All Natural Things. In 2017 she appeared with I’m a Harmony, a collection of unreleased recordings made between 1966 and 1970.
