Ellie Goulding has filed a lawsuit against her former managers, Benedict Mawson and Edward Millett, after they arranged deals with Live Nation behind the artist’s back that could have potentially harmed the trajectory of her career. Variety provided the exclusive report.
Mawson and Millett represented the singer from 2018 to 2025 under the umbrella of HNOE, a company that has been wholly owned by Live Nation since 2019. During this period, Goulding says she signed several contracts with different ticketing companies for tours, merchandise, and a documentary film.
However, she was unaware that her managers were contractually prohibited from undertaking any action that could “terminate or reduce the business relationship with Live Nation or any of its affiliates,” even if such actions might have benefited her career. Essentially, Mawson and Millet were employees of Live Nation.
Ellie Goulding is seeking unspecified damages “for breach of fiduciary duties” through the suit.
The development comes two weeks ahead of the release of her sixth album, “I Know Too Much,” which was introduced with the single “Black Prada Dress.”
