RFTW: Avalanches, Tate McRae, Fontaines DC, Angèle…

October 16, 2026

Today, October 16, fresh albums drop from The Avalanches, Fontaines D.C., Angèle, Rachel Chinouriri, Anni B Sweet, @, Lori Meyers, the breakout artist Sophia Stel, and Gara Durán, whom we previously spoke to on the cover.

The list doesn’t end there. We also have major new releases from Eels, Allergic to Pollen, Nao (marking the first of her four seasonal records), Meritxell Neddermann, and a reissue of Tierra Whack.

The playlist prominently spotlights the comebacks of Tate McRae, Blondie, Estopa, and Nebulossa, along with duets such as Olivia Rodrigo with Chappell Roan, Fontaines D.C. featuring Rosalía (which we also include in the list, though the featured track is ‘Japan’), and Zach Bryan paired with Lana Del Rey.

Other artists are also giving previews of their upcoming projects. This includes U2, Los Punsetes, Michael Kiwanuka, Guillem Gisbert, Kate Nash, Rex Orange County, and Kings of Leon.

Among the distinctive singles, there’s the GTA track that brings together Justice, Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard; Mariah Carey’s ‘Loverboy’ remix, which foreshadows the Glitter reissue; and El Último de la Fila’s reinterpretation of ‘Canta por mí,’ signaling a new era for Rufus T. Firefly.

There are also several other noteworthy releases to highlight, such as the breakout artist Leyla Ebrahimi, Kygo’s collaboration with Ava Max, Fades’ single with Ouineta and Svetlana, and other intriguing national debuts from San Tosielo, Tami Tamako, or Ventura.
