5 Gems from the Balearic, Catalan and Valencian Scene at FIRA B

October 24, 2026

FIRA B! also serves to take the pulse of some of the closest scenes, from Catalan-language electronic pop to Majorcan garage rock or Valencian traditional music filtered through electronics. The programming brings together projects that start from very different references, whether to carry them toward dancing, experiment with new sounds, or revisit folklore from the present. We select five names from the Balearic Islands, Catalonia, and the Valencian Community that are worth knowing. Tickets here.

LECOCQ

Enric Mont, a Catalan and French musician, releases in 2026 ‘Sucre’, an album that truly lives up to its title. ‘Parapents’ is a sugar-coated disco-funky treat, ‘Amazona’ plays with restless percussion and playful synthesizers, and ‘No toquem de peus a terra’ insists on the liveliest electronic pop. ‘Nid d’oiseau’, in French, completes a repertoire of pure synthetic sugar.

When and where: Friday, November 6, at Es Gremi – Sala 1.

UR Bad

From Mallorca, UR Bad play sharp-guitar garage rock, hooks, and vocal harmonies. ‘My Boyfriend Is a Serial Killer’ has a surf-rock vibe, ‘Radioactive Girl’ revisits 60s garage, and ‘Pop Star’ flirts with 70s hard rock. Their latest single, ‘Without Your Love’, is perhaps the most accessible. The best part is that they still don’t have a studio album: they are a promise to discover.

When and where: Saturday, November 7, at Motorworld Mallorca.

Nineta

In her standout single ‘Mort a s’alegria’, Nineta makes Catalan electropop with a bedroom-pop and DIY sensibility. She’s like a Robyn who makes music for herself, without losing sight of catchy melodies. ‘Veritats amargues’ grows on a beat that throbs like a pulse, while ‘Mercè’ leans toward ambient electronic, with synthesizers and birdsong sounds. ‘Sa creu’ recovers the most rhythmic synthpop, with a vulnerable voice that contrasts with the electronic pulse.

When and where: Saturday, November 7, at Motorworld Mallorca.

FAIXA

The Valencian collective FAIXA blends traditional singing, percussion, and castanets with dubstep, UK bass, jungle, and footwork. Born in 2022 between l’Alcoià and el Comtat, it seeks to revitalize Valencian musical heritage through electronic music, without leaving out references such as Moorish marches or the Bakalao Route. Their debut album, self-titled, arrived in 2024 and since then they have collaborated with artists such as Carles Dénia, Titana, and Apa.

When and where: Saturday, November 7, at Motorworld Mallorca.

Pitxorines

Clarinet, harmonies, and earthy percussion introduce Pitxorines in ‘Pere Gallerí’, their collaboration with Judit Neddermann. The Mallorca-based group revisits the island’s folk repertoire with original arrangements that also draw from classical music and jazz. In ‘Tira-li cocetes’ they convey a rural and collective joy without turning tradition into a museum piece.

When and where: Saturday, November 7, at Motorworld Mallorca.
