Spain Set to Win Junior Eurovision

October 25, 2026

Lucas Paulano came close to winning at the Junior Eurovision this Saturday. The young contestant, known for his participation in La Voz Kids, finished in 2nd place, just behind Armenia.

‘Cuore Bello’ is a nostalgic song in which, during its presentation, we saw Lucas Paulano open a box of memories, and then perform the piece inside a circle of light, finally displaying his powerful vocal surge.

If Armenia’s winning song, ‘Boo!’ by the young Naré Kerobyan, following in the footsteps of artists like Britney or Blackpink, earned 202 points, Lucas earned 184 points. The jury awarded him 108 points and the televote, another 76. Spain thus strengthens its solid run at Eurovision Junior, in contrast to the main festival, where it tends to finish in the lower positions. For now, it is unknown whether Spain will participate in Eurovision 2027, but all signs point to no.

As Vertele reports, the festival held last night in Malta was halted for 6 minutes due to a technical problem, just as Cyprus was about to perform in second place.
