‘Housewife’ by Tate McRae is one of the biggest global hits right now. It managed to lead Spotify’s Global chart for several days, staying at the No. 1 spot for a week after its release; it reached the top two officially in the United Kingdom and Sweden, and the No. 1 position in Australia, Germany, Austria, Ireland, and Norway. It’s obvious this is going to be one of her biggest hits.
In Spain, a country notoriously tough for English-language tracks, the song entered at number 44, marking the week’s strongest debut, and it sits ahead of more than a dozen tracks by the Canarian artist Lucho RK. This is the performance she delivered a few days ago at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The other major international novelty of the week was ‘Expectations’ by Olivia Rodrigo featuring Chappell Roan, which in Spain reaches a modest position of 78. In the United Kingdom it has climbed to the Top 3, and the track has enjoyed very positive reception internationally: it peaked at No. 4 on Spotify Global and is currently at No. 5.
Returning to Spain, it’s worth highlighting the arrival of two Grecas tracks: ‘Fua kabrón’ at 75 and ‘Tímala’ at 96. Also the entry of Fontaines DC with Rosalía at 66, already noted in the album list.
Other entries of the week in Spain included ‘+ Delomismo’ by Juseph at No. 48, ‘Dame hombro’ by Bulin at No. 47, Kevin Wai and Breyco at No. 74, and ‘Bicho raro’ by Estopa at No. 90.
