Sónar has posted on its website a ‘Book of Condolences’ that suggests the festival may have reached its end. The page displays its logo alongside the dates ‘1994-2026’ and invites visitors to leave words of farewell.
Has Sónar died? For the moment, there is no official confirmation that the festival will disappear. The page could also be a marketing move, although the message and the dates clearly point to a possible final chapter.
The publication comes after the controversy surrounding the festival’s relationship with Israel, which has sparked criticism and debate about its programming. For now, we must wait to see whether we are witnessing a real farewell or a promotional campaign.
