The legendary Parisian rock club has just announced the lineup for this new edition of the festival, which will take place across around ten venues in the Bastille neighborhood, from May 14 to 16. On the program: no fewer than 70 acts and cultural explorations throughout the district.
Four times the charm, and now four without a doubt: this year the Supersonic’s Block Party Festival returns with a fourth edition just as promising as its predecessors. A reason to make the Bastille district tremble, where the celebrations will unfold from May 14 to 16, in about ten venues surrounding the legendary Paris club (Le Supersonic Records, La Seine Café, the POPUP!, CHANTE!, La Mécanique Ondulatoire, the Badadoum, Les Disquaires…)
The goal of this event, inspired by festivals such as Left Of The Dial in Rotterdam or Mutations in Brighton, is to spotlight a bubbling and highly exhilarating indie scene. Across these three days of performances, no fewer than 70 bands from all corners of the globe will be on hand to play in Paris.
Four families to choose the concerts by taste
Among them, you’ll find Heavy Lungs (the band led by none other than Danny Nedelko, one of Joe Talbot’s closest friends) as well as Sword II, an Atlanta group with dream-pop influences, or Pale Blue Eyes, Joe & The Shitboys, The Yummy Mouths, Los Palms…
Groups are organized, for easier navigation, into four musical families: Dreamy “for sensitive hearts,” the Supersonic team explains, Shiny “for sunny shows,” Pogo “for those who want to pogo and slam” and Revival “for live performances that cross the boundaries of genres”.
Cultural explorations
But that’s not all, because the Supersonic Block Party will also lead festival-goers into the streets of the 11th and 12th arrondissements for cultural explorations of the Bastille district, in the form of treasure hunts. They will thus guide the audience to discover exhibitions, tattoo shops, restaurants, and cinemas… These itineraries are soon to be detailed by the event team. Tickets are here.
