Quevedo holds on to the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in Spain with Elvis Crespo and Nueva Línea, respectively. ‘La Graciosa’ is triple platinum and ‘Al golpito’ double platinum. Both tracks have even managed to outshine what were the album’s initial singles: ‘Ni borracho’ sits at No. 11 (double platinum) and ‘Scandic’ has already fallen to No. 34 (platinum).
The ‘Baifo Hurricane’ has thus prevented Shakira and Burna Boy’s ‘Dai Dai’ from reaching the official No. 1 in Spain, despite the World Cup promo it enjoyed, and which Spain also won.
The song remains at No. 3, certified platinum, after having been No. 2, making it one of the summer’s big hits. As such, it will be widely celebrated at the upcoming Shakira Stadium concerts. But clearly it’s already sliding back: today on Spotify Spain it falls to No. 14.
Something similar has happened in the UK, where ‘Dai Dai’ ended up at No. 2, held down by the Olivia Dean and Sam Fender duo, who are breaking records. That said, Shakira can be pleased because her track with Burna Boy did reach No. 1 on Spotify’s Global chart for a total of 35 days, which now seems to have ended due to the push of… ‘Loser’ by Tame Impala.
Back in Spain, the strongest new entry is ‘Zizi’ by Ozuna with Omar Courtz, reaching No. 15. Next week it aims to climb into the top 10. There are seven entries from Karol G’s album that we’ve already discussed in the album-list analysis (notably ‘Bby Wow’ at No. 30). And finally we find two more entries in quite modest positions: ‘Spicy’ by Fronti, Brytiago and Myke Towers at No. 90; and ‘Mentira’ by Ryan Castro and Feid at No. 98.
