David Broncano on the Future of La Revuelta: We All Know What Could Happen

September 4, 2026

RTVE has unveiled its lineup for the new season. One of the programs that has not looked very optimistic about the year ahead is La Revuelta, with David Broncano admitting live on air that he fears “this may be my last appearance in September on TVE.”

This topic had already been broached by Broncano and his collaborators on numerous occasions during the show, always in a humorous vein. The presenter’s statements have drawn attention this time due to their apparent seriousness, with the comedian referring to alleged “elections in March,” although no official call has been issued.

“Let’s not fool ourselves; we all know what could happen. Depending on what unfolds in the March elections, Morante de la Puebla could perfectly replace me in September. I am genuinely nervous. I hope it doesn’t happen, but it’s something I have in mind,” he stated alongside María Eizaguirre, RTVE’s Director of Communications and Participation.

Broncano is making a clear reference to a possible PP and Vox government, under which La Revuelta, about to begin its third season, could end indefinitely. In doing so, one of the few spaces on public television that bets on live music could also come to an end.
