On Tuesday, April 28, Dominique A. announced his boycott of the Bolloré ecosystem on social media. The Nantes-born singer, known for his activism, will no longer perform at the Olympia and the Casino de Paris, properties of the far-right billionaire.
“No more BolloRelay,” wrote Dominique A. in bold black uppercase letters on a white background, in an Instagram and Facebook post published on Tuesday, April 28. After a wave of indignation in the cultural world following the ousting of Olivier Nora, the former head of the Grasset publishing house who moved under Bolloré’s umbrella in 2023, it is Dominique A. who speaks out on his social networks.
“For my trade, I regularly take the train, and until now I really enjoyed arriving early to wander through the Relay stores in train stations […] But recently I told myself that this would be the last time. That’s enough,” writes the Nantes-born singer who “decides personally to boycott this chain.”
Boycott of the Olympia and the Casino de Paris
Dominique A. further states in his post that he will no longer perform “in the Paris venues also owned by Mr. Bolloré, such as the Olympia or the Casino de Paris.” Regarding the Grasset affair, the singer-songwriter of Courage des oiseaux expresses all his anger: “Mr. Bolloré has, through the press, mocked the authors who chose to leave this publishing house, which he also owns: they, those authors, would, in his view, be out of touch, a thousand leagues away from the concerns of the French. It is always touching, and so credible, to see a billionaire from the Caste 40, with brutal management methods, pretend to care about the people’s interests.”
The singer, known for his left-wing commitment, recently signed a column For a cultural front against the RN in the pages of Inrockuptibles, alongside numerous actors and actresses from the culture world.
