Everything But the Girl Return to Their Roots, Announce New Album

October 28, 2026

Only three years after Fuse, their first album in 24 years, Everything But The Girl announce the next one, Blue Reservoir, which will be released on February 19, 2027. It is an album inspired by the concert residency the duo Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt performed at the Moth Club in London, an intimate Hackney venue where they rediscussed the chemistry of playing together live. The experience led them to embrace a more organic sound, with the vocals and guitar in the foreground, and ultimately influenced the musical direction of Blue Reservoir.

The British duo presents the album with ‘Young And Dumb’, a single with an acoustic sound and a hint of bossa nova that moves away from the electronics of their previous work and recovers a more intimate facet, closer to their folk and Brazilian roots.

In an interview with NME, the group has discussed other tracks on the album, such as ‘Scala’, which blends Tracey Thorn’s autobiographical tale of her adolescence, references to The Smiths and The Cure, and a night at the former London club Scala with music that carries a Cuban-inspired air. ‘Forward’, which will open the album, directly poses the central theme: there is a need to move forward, even though the past remains present.

The announcement arrives accompanied by new live dates in the United Kingdom, for now none in Spain. Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt will perform in London in November and December of this year, and will return to the London Union Chapel and the Manchester Albert Hall in May 2027. They also have a show planned at St George’s, Bristol, on May 25.
