Iceage Returns With New Single and Announces Sixth Album

April 22, 2026

The band led by Elias Rønnenfelt releases a new single, “Ember,” and announces the release of their forthcoming album.

After Star, the first new single released in March, the Danish punk rock group unveils Ember, a track that straddles post-punk in the Libertines vein with poppier resurgences in the sung sections. The new piece opens with surprising glockenspiel notes that accompany a saturated guitar. It marks the second single from For Love of Grace & the Hereafter, Iceage’s sixth and upcoming album, due on May 29.

The band recorded the album in a rural house in the Swedish countryside, near the Norwegian border. Twelve years ago, it was in the same house that Elias Rønnenfelt, guitarist Johan Suurballe Wieth, drummer Dan Kjær Nielsen, guitarist Casper Morilla Fernandez, and bassist Jakob Tvilling Pless recorded Plowing Into the Fields of Love. To reconnect with the idea of collapse, the group retreated to the Scandinavian countryside to record For Love of Grace & the Hereafter. “The tracks were meant to be direct, raw, and fast, with a sense of urgency,” says Rønnenfelt in a press release. “We wanted to try to shed any superfluous weight. What excites us most is capturing these bursts of energy,” he adds.
