Jared Leto Accused of Sexual Offenses by Four Women

July 30, 2026

A new BBC documentary, “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” gathers the testimonies of 10 women who accuse Jared Leto of inappropriate sexual behavior between 2002 and 2016. Nine of them speak publicly for the first time. According to Variety, four of the accounts describe alleged sexual offenses that occurred when the complainants were teenagers.

One woman states that the actor sexually assaulted her in the bathroom of a motel when she was 17. Another claims that Leto threatened to sexually assault her when she was 19. A third asserts that she had sexual relations with him in California when she was 17, well below the state’s age of consent, and that the actor downplayed that fact. A fourth alleges that Leto made repeated calls of a sexual nature when she was 16 and even proposed that they have sex.

The documentary also collects the testimonies of four other women who describe calls “strange and often very sexual” when they were young. Additionally, two former Thirty Seconds to Mars employees say the band’s inner circle felt uncomfortable with the way Leto interacted with underage girls, whom, they say, he sometimes invited to the dressing room or to the house where he recorded.

The BBC says it has cross-checked several of these accounts with relatives and friends of the complainants, as well as reviewed messages and photographs that would support part of their testimony. According to Variety, Jared Leto’s representatives had not responded to requests for comment at the time of publication.
