Joe Jonas, who was spotted strolling through Madrid’s Malasaña neighborhood last February, has chosen Spain again for his holidays. This time he and his brothers spent a few days in Jávea (Alicante), a stay they described on the Hey Jonas podcast, though the experience appears to have been bittersweet.
According to ElDiario.es, the Jonas Brothers were taken aback by the number of Dutch people they encountered during their trip. “It felt like a Black Mirror episode. It was all Dutch.” They noted that the house owner was Dutch, as was the private chef, the staff at the pharmacy, and even the meat and cheese shop. “It pulled you out of the experience of being in Spain.”
Although the podcast never mentions Jávea by name, the photos Joe Jonas has shared on social media place the vacation there. Their remarks come amid an ongoing debate about the touristification of the Mediterranean coast.
