Lennixx Wish You the Worst with Their Happy Disco Bop

September 27, 2026

Lennixx are Hanna Larsson and Andrea Kallström, two Swedish girls who met as children in a dance class and began singing covers together. In 2016 they released their first songs as Hanna & Andrea, and in 2018 they changed their name to Lennixx, after which a couple of EPs would follow and finally the album ‘Enough To Get Away’ (2023).

Vocalists as well as dancers, Lennixx make pop with hints of R&B and alternative sounds, distancing themselves quite a bit from the work of Hanna’s sister, Zara Larsson, which leans more towards diva-pop. An example? Don’t miss their big hit of this year, ‘Boy Crazy’.

Now another arrives. ‘Don’t Wish You Well’, today’s Song of the Day, is considerably quieter than its title would suggest. It carries echoes of disco-soul and a touch of alternative R&B, with jazzy yet distorted pianos, and vocal harmonies that loosen beautifully in the chorus. A mood of serenity pervades the track while the lyrics go straight for a guy who never quite commits.

“We were going to renew, you have all the ideas, but then you never move in,” they sing about one of those future-plans relationships that never come to pass. In the end they’re left with “a long list of all those things you said you’d do.”

There’s a certain bite in the chorus “I don’t wish you well,” and they even say they’ve cast a spell so that “he can’t come” when he’s about to. Yet that resentment isn’t reflected in a song that musically already seems at peace with it all. The video also captures that idea of moves and of a life project that never comes to a good port.
