In Cassuéjouls, in the Aveyron region, the Bon esprit de clocher micro-festival highlights gastronomy and music on May 23 and 24.
There are festivals that fill stadiums, and there is the Bon esprit de clocher micro-festival. In a village perched on the Aubrac plateau, the event aims to bring together for a weekend what music and gastronomy can offer at their best.
It is Alexandre Cammas, founder of the Fooding guide and grandson of the region, who imagined this micro-festival after selling his guide to Michelin in 2020. A way for him to return to his roots and to shine a light on Cassuéjouls, the village of his grandmother, located in the Aveyron. Five editions later, May 23-24, 2026 again promises to be the season’s rendezvous. On the program, candlelit concerts with Marlon Magnée, co-founder of La Femme who released in March his first solo album Dark Star, and Sam Quealy, the Australian artist based in Paris whose pop-electro ignites everything in its path. Also included are Andrea Laszlo De Simone, the Turin-born artist present for his audiovisual installation Una Lunghissima Ombra, and Malik Djoudi for a concert accompanied by a classical orchestra.
To hydrate you, the founders of Candelaria, the Mary Celeste, and À la Renaissance (in Paris) will be behind the shaker. In the kitchen, Quentin Bourdy will heat the communal wood-fired oven for a Laguiole AOP flammekueche to be savored in the alley. And on the dessert side, Noémie Honiat, Top Chef season 5 finalist and 2011 French Junior Dessert Champion. Not to mention the numerous other homemade recipes and specialties to discover at locals’ homes throughout the weekend!
