Aitana regains ground in the Spanish album chart this week. ‘Cuarto Azul’ rises from number 8 to number 6, in its 66th week on the list, aligning with the approaching arena concerts. The top spot remains held by Quevedo with ‘EL BAIFO’ for another week.
Among the week’s new entries, Mastodon stands out, debuting at number 25 with ‘Marrow Deep’. This is a more modest showing than what the band has achieved in other markets: the album enters at 5 in Germany, 6 in Australia and Finland, 4 in Belgium and Switzerland, and 7 in Scotland, among other results. In the United Kingdom it debuts at 27. The Warning also enters at 28 with ‘Everything’s Falling’.
On the other hand, Alex Warren debuts at 36 with ‘Wildchild’, after reaching the number 1 spot directly in the United Kingdom. The previous release peaked at 88 in Spain, so not too bad.
Interpol, for their part, enters at 80 with the well-regarded ‘This Mirror Weighs a Ton’, versus number 33 achieved in the United Kingdom. Don’t miss our recent viral interview with the band.
There are also several reappearances and debuts from historic names. Fleetwood Mac re-enters at 82 with ‘Greatest Hits’. More striking is Prince’s entry with ‘Timeless’, which debuts at 95. The Spanish result is one of the weakest for the record internationally: although it reaches number 1 in Switzerland and number 4 in Belgium, it also enters at 5 in Austria, 6 in the Netherlands, 14 in Germany, 21 in Japan, 30 in France and 62 in the United Kingdom.
As for contemporary debuts, the Galician rapper Hard GZ returns to the list at 18 with ‘Lacosta’. The album makes a comeback to the chart after reaching the number 1 spot on the vinyl list.
