No-Frills: This Song Is About Fucking

September 8, 2026

After winning us over with her duet with Toldos Verdes, MaiteQuiero continues unveiling her upcoming EP with ‘Montauk’, the second teaser from ‘Un ángel y yo’. The title nods to ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’, the film that has recently inspired Ariana Grande, and the song also plays with the idea of memory blending with fantasy. A sexual experience that time has warped until it becomes almost perfect.

«Without much flourish this song is about having sex», MaiteQuiero explains, while the press release adds: «The erotic experience from which it begins dissolves as time passes. It is no longer clear what really happened and what memory has built».

Maite Gallardo Alba also wanted to move away from the «usual male point of view» in songs about sex and approach the topic «from my place». The result speaks of vapor, fogged glass and «pure love like fire», but without getting too romantic.

With echoes of the harsher Christina Rosenvinge, ‘Montauk’ bets on an intense and fairly dirty sound, with distorted guitar, blues-rock flavor and a raspy, sensual bass by Álvaro Vidal that propels the track. Sexy, physical and a little dirty too, it’s also a new step forward for the former member of Shego.
