Hard to believe, but Oasis’s highly touted tour wrapped up in November 2025, after taking them through the Americas, Asia, Australia, and the United Kingdom. They allocated nearly one in every three shows to their home country.
Whispers in the rumor mill had long suggested that 2026 would bring the continental European leg, where Oasis were larger than in America, but no announcement ever came. Nor did the major festivals in our country or elsewhere make any move.
With no public activity to speak of, the entertainment is all about speculation, and in recent days the chatter has resurfaced—perhaps spurred by the impending release of their documentary, which premieres in Venice in a couple of weeks. Some people claim Oasis could announce a fresh British and European tour for next year; that they might stage a residency in Manchester, return to Knebworth (where they delivered two legendary shows in 1996 for 250,000 people), or even headline Glastonbury, whose organizers have said they’ve already ruled out Madonna as a headliner.
The constant is that they will return to performing soon. Liam Gallagher made that clear in a tweet about a month ago. In the post, he joked about the pressure of recording a new album. “No, I’m not prepared for the criticism if it doesn’t sell 100 million copies in the first hour, if it doesn’t cure the nation’s bad breath and constipation, if it doesn’t turn back time for Cher and all that stuff; better we do some gigs and be happy, thanks.”
On the other hand, we know Noel Gallagher is working on new songs, or at least rough ideas, because he mentioned it in February, and Johnny Marr now corroborates it. As reported by NME, there’s simply no way to tell whether these are tracks for Oasis or for Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and even the latter seems more likely at this point. After all, how big would a Noel Gallagher single need to be to accomplish all of this at once?
