‘Party’: Troye Sivan sampled Madonna’s ‘Music’.

September 17, 2026

Ahead of his new album, “She’s the Best,” due out on October 9, Troye Sivan had already shared the self-titled opening track, a song that sounds somewhat different from the rest of his discography, veering almost toward Avalanches in mood. The artist had said he was aiming for something timeless this time around. In any case, the forthcoming single called “Party” will hit the dance floors. Specifically, it will be connected to “Music,” one of Madonna’s most overlooked No. 1 hits, released in 2000, when Troye was five years old. The video teaser promises a massive production, set to premiere later this afternoon/evening. In progress.

I cover the intersections between emerging scenes and the wider industry shifts shaping how music is created and consumed today. Based in London, I focus on stories that reveal the cultural and structural forces behind the sound. My work at The Sorrow aims to document what moves the industry forward long before it reaches the mainstream.
