From today, Friday, August 28, through Sunday the 30th, Valladolid is hosting a new edition of Cosquín Rock. This afternoon the gates will open at Pingüinos Arena, featuring familiar pop-rock names such as the unstoppable Ultraligera or M-Clan.
The peculiarity is that there are acts not at all focused on rock and that arrive from beyond borders as well. In contrast to other festivals that are already 100% centered on national pop, Cosquín Rock bets on bringing international names of diverse kinds. This will be the case with the bona fide rockers Kaiser Chiefs, who are set to perform today, Friday.
Yet the most striking act will be Paul Kalkbrenner this Saturday, August 29. The legendary German artist released last year the acclaimed album titled ‘THE ESSENCE’, which featured guests such as Depeche Mode (in a rendition of ‘DREAM ON’) and Stromae. In this instance, Kalkbrenner will deliver a live set—noted as not a DJ performance—that will “deconstruct and reinvent the show in real time.”
On the same Saturday, Claptone, Dmasso, Imbermind and Kinder Lomas will take the stage, in addition to Lola Bozzano.
Finally, Cosquín Rock provides information about access in Valladolid: bus lines 18 and 19 will connect the city with Pingüinos Arena. Today, Friday the 28th, and tomorrow, Saturday the 29th, they will run every 30 minutes, while on Sunday the 30th they will run every 60 minutes. Additionally, there will be a shuttle line between Plaza de Poniente and Cosquín Rock, operating today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) from 19:45, and on Sunday from 19:00 to 00:00. From Cosquín Rock there will be return service during each day and until the end of the event. Attendees who choose to travel by private vehicle will also have ample parking space around Pingüinos Arena.
