From November 5 to 7, the Pitchfork Music Festival Paris returns to the capital with its Avant-Garde, a genuine laboratory for musical exploration designed to enrich your playlists. Over three nights, the eastern part of Paris will pulse to the rhythm of fifty-five different shows, a musical stroll oriented toward novelty.
This year again, the Pitchfork Music Festival Paris offers its exploratory counterpart Avant-Garde from the opening on Thursday, November 5. Among the must-sees of the first evening, Maddie Ashman stands out, an artist who shakes the codes of avant-pop by marrying the rigor of microtonal music and classical structures with a surprisingly melodic sensibility. The next day, the festival will venture into dreamier territories with Ellie O’Neill, who appeared at Inrocks festival in March last year. The Irish musician writes introspective folk that navigates between explorations of queer identity and pared-down confessions. She will share Friday’s lineup with Quiet Light (Riya Mahesh), a Texas-born producer who has just released Blue Angel Sparkling Silver 2, an electro-pop album with Lynchian, ambient and experimental undertones.
Saturday, November 7 will close this marathon of discoveries with an even more adventurous lineup. Fans of dense sonic textures will have the chance to discover Bleary Eyed, a shoegaze outfit from Philadelphia whom we had met as the opening act for Wednesday at the Trabendo in February. The closing night will also host The Femcels, among a bill that simply makes you want not to miss a thing.
