RAYE appeared at the VMAs this Sunday, and before taking the stage she had to address rumors about Michael B. Jordan. A fake photo of them kissing circulated online after they were spotted together at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California.
“No, we’re just friends who enjoy roller coasters,” RAYE stated. That said, they are indeed collaborating on a secret project. “Technically I can’t talk about it because I could get into trouble,” she explained, offering no further details.
Meanwhile, the search for a husband remains a serious matter for RAYE. So much so that she maintains her own personal “album strike”: she doesn’t plan to begin her third album, provisionally titled ‘And Then She Falls in Love’, until she falls in love. “I refuse to write a single song for it until I find my person,” she has said.
In August she explained on TODAY that she’s tired of writing from the same place: “This didn’t work,” “this is crap” or “I’m alone.” “I’m really bored with that perspective,” she said. So for now, no actor boyfriend, no husband, and no third album.
Just a reminder that ‘This Music May Contain Hope’ is one of the year’s albums and a strong contender for the Grammys. Its latest single has been ‘Joy’.
