Rosalía Apologizes at Argentina Concert: “Tremendous Screw-Up”

August 2, 2026

Rosalía kicked off her first show in Argentina on the LUX tour and did not miss the opportunity to apologize, once again, to the audience after the repost of a Mia Khalifa video in which she referred to Argentinians as “pearls.” The Catalan artist spoke bluntly: “What a colossal screw-up, you.”

The first of four dates at Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires gave the singer a chance to address the controversy that has surrounded her on social media in recent weeks: “Oh my God, what a mess the other day,” she commented. She explained that she had been “scrolling, not paying too much attention,” and reposted the video, only to regret it shortly after: “It was never my intention, really, I feel terrible about what happened.”

Then the artist took the opportunity to share a memory of her first visit to the country, at Lollapalooza 2019: “I remember opening the show of ‘El mal querer’ with ‘Pienso en tu mirá’ and I remember hearing all that crowd singing,” before starting to sing the track at that very moment. “How could I have a negative feeling toward a place like this?” she concluded.
