Struck by a malaise during a concert at the Unipol Forum in Milan on Wednesday, March 25, the Spanish superstar had to end her performance prematurely. Despite her wish to continue the show for two hours, her condition did not allow her to finish the evening in front of her Italian fans.
During an international tour for her album Lux and after memorable concerts in Lyon and Paris, the Catalan artist was forced to leave the Milan stage after about two hours of the show. Speaking candidly in front of a crowd of 16,000, the singer explained that she was suffering from a “severe food poisoning” that had already weakened her before the show even began. Although the author of Malamente had pushed her physical limits for two hours, she finally admitted to being exhausted and unable to continue.
Signs of fatigue had already been noted by spectators, notably when the singer was struck by a cough during the rendition of the track De Madruga. “I don’t feel well. I’ve tried to carry on, but I have to stop the concert. I wanted to offer you the best possible experience,” she states in a video excerpt. “This hasn’t happened to me before. I’ve pushed my body, but I can’t go on.” The singer then revealed to the audience that she was suffering from a “severe food poisoning.” “I vomited backstage, I’m doing my best, but I’m really worn out.”
The Lux tour continues
For the moment, no details have been provided about potential compensation measures or about organizing a new date for Milan’s fans. Regarding her health, the Catalan artist posted an Instagram Story on Thursday, March 26. Lying on a stretcher with a catheter in her left arm, she wrote “I feel much better now. Grazie Milano.” Rosalía now must pace herself for the rest of her European itinerary (Madrid, Lisbon, Amsterdam) before heading to North America in June.
