Royal Blood Follow Their Formula to the Letter in ‘Ten Over Ten’

August 14, 2026

Royal Blood are back. The British duo formed by Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher has announced their fifth LP, ‘Dead Company’, which is set to arrive on November 13 via Warner Records, and they have already released their first single, ‘Ten Over Ten’.

The track is a stomper of hard rock and blues rock, with a touch of desert rock and even a hint of metal. The riffs sound especially powerful and sharp, while the drums drive a song packed with energy that seems designed to work even better live. It’s a strong genre track and a demonstration that Royal Blood still know how to make a lot of noise with just two people.

That said, it doesn’t seem ‘Ten Over Ten’ is going to win them many new fans. Rather, it offers another dose of the formula the duo have been honing for years, defined by heavy riffs and squared-off aggression, with not too many surprises or a melody that makes it stand out particularly within their catalog. For those who were already on board, it’s a fairly convincing return.

‘Dead Company’ will be Royal Blood’s first album since ‘Back To The Water Below’, released in 2023. According to the duo, they entered the studio in 2025 with no deadline or distractions, with the idea of exploring ‘what was possible with two people, 12 notes and infinite results’.
