Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, have been sued by two companies that invested more than a million dollars in Wondermind, the mental health firm they co-founded with Daniella Pierson. The lawsuit claims that the information they received about the company, its structure, and its potential to become a profitable enterprise did not reflect reality.
According to TMZ, the investors feel that Selena presented herself as deeply involved in Wondermind, yet after the funding was provided, she reportedly contributed little to the company. They also name Daniella Pierson for allegedly overstating her business successes and the expected profitability.
The lawsuit states that Wondermind spent three years piling up problems without informing the investors. They did not grasp the scale of the situation until The Cut published in September 2025 an article describing a company in “total disarray.”
The article also contains allegations about a purported substance abuse issue involving Mandy Teefey and about her management of the company. She denies these accusations, saying they come from former employees who are unhappy. The investors have now taken the matter to court on charges of alleged securities fraud, seeking to recover the invested funds along with other damages.
