Selena’s Family Battles Over Her Estate

September 5, 2026

Selena Quintanilla is in the news today for two reasons: her involvement in the 20th anniversary reissue of “B’DAY,” as a crucial element of the new version of “Irreplaceable,” and the legal battle that her family has launched months after the death of Abraham Quintanilla, the family patriarch.

A.B. Quintanilla, Selena’s brother, has said he has begun legal action against his sister Suzette. He accuses her of alleged irregularities in her financial duties and swears that “I never imagined the day would come when I would have to face a situation like this.” While the dispute started months ago, Quintanilla remains surprised: “There are things I have discovered and experienced during this process that have left me deeply impacted.”

Suzette, on the other hand, denies having received a lawsuit from her brother, as well as any involvement in a theft of her sister’s estate: “She has not stolen, embezzled, nor improperly taken money or assets belonging to A.B., Abraham, Marcella, Chris, Selena’s estate, or to any family business or jointly owned property,” reads a statement signed with their mother Marcella Quintanilla.

Although both A.B. and Suzette Quintanilla played important roles in Selena’s rise to fame, and they have always stood united when speaking about their sister, their relationship has become severely fractured in recent months.
