Many of you are flocking to Taylor Swift forums to catch the latest rumors, and this time we already have an answer. Taylor Swift has announced ‘Patient Zero’, a new single that looks set to extend the era of ‘The Life of a Showgirl’. It drops this Friday.
The announcement arrives after a countdown on her website that ended today at 20:00 in Spain and after several changes that had fans buzzing with theories. Taylor’s message on her site had grown from two pages to three, and her Instagram bio read “And, baby, that’s sh0w business f0r y0u,” with three zeros that many Swifties interpreted as an Easter egg.
In the past few hours there had been speculation about a deluxe edition of ‘The Life of a Showgirl’, ‘Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version)’, ‘reputation (Taylor’s Version)’, a new tour, and even a pregnancy. Ultimately, the announcement has crystallized in this new single.
The last time Taylor Swift kicked off a countdown of this kind, she ended up revealing ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’, her song for ‘Toy Story’, which has since become a major hit. Now we wait to see how far she intends to push the era of ‘The Life of a Showgirl’.
