The Sakifo Festival: Réunion’s Must-See Event in June

The city of Saint-Pierre is set to host the 22nd edition of the Sakifo Musik Festival, which will take place on the seafront from June 5 to 7. As a prelude, a completely free evening will be held starting Thursday, June 4, at the Ravine Blanche site to celebrate the closing of IOMMa.

The festivities will begin on Thursday, June 4, with eight groups drawn from the IOMMa selection, the Indian Ocean Music Market offering a preview of the festival’s vibe. On Friday, June 5, the program will intensify with the arrival of national and international headliners such as Jean-Louis Aubert, Rilès, Kokoroko, and Bongeziwe Mabandla. They will be accompanied on stage by Queen Omega & The Royal Souls, Kiltir, Saodaj, Joe Yorke, Sayaa & The Herbalist, Les Mamans du Congo and Rrobin, Yeko, Ban Makwalé, Antònio Marcos and Wild Wild Women. Festival-goers will also have the chance to discover the talents of Bioz, Junior, Aurus, D-Lisha, K*Ravage, Milan Ring and La Sours.

The weekend will continue with its feet in the water on Saturday, June 6, with PLK, Helena, Baster and Miki. This day will also host Léa Churros, Alsimi, Stand High Patrol (DJ set featuring Joe Yorke & Marina P), Gwendoline Absalon, Cyrilman and Agnesca, Salangane, Yugen Blakrok, Malha, Ti Fréd, Wendada, Kafrinèr, Tablatronic, Aurus, Sol Rosa, Mù and Fanm Foular.

Finally, Sunday, June 7 will close Sakifo with Asaf Avidan, Magic System, Biga*Ranx and Last Train. The crowd will also be able to applaud Eve La Marka, Missty, Jupiter & Okwess, DJ Sebb, Kom Zot, Phil An Maloya, Michou, Fomb’é Maloya, Fidju Kitxora, Soa Meva, Sana Maloya, Babké, Tine Poppy, Toti, Sedjem, Kanasel, Fayamash, as well as Xonne, winner of the Le son du bahut 2026 contest.
